aunt kerrie & uncle russell sent a giant goodie box full of clothes around easter, so i'm trying to get some pics of haley as she wears the outfits .   unfortunately the weather has still been pretty cool so we have not been able to wear many of the short sets yet. but, here are a few more:

i had a training class in north carolina, so grandma flew in right after tax deadline to help trey out and spend some time with miss haley.  she stayed a few days after i got back so we all went to the zoo and grandma babysat while we went on TWO dates for my birthday!!!  it was great!  thanks grandma.  we had fun & i know haley had fun with you too!

18 month statistics

we had haley's 18 month checkup today.  she did great!  the dr we saw was awesome too. 
haley did have a case of hives today, though!  she woke up with lots of clusters of red, raised bumps.  they were on her legs, arms, diaper area, and neck.  i called the nurse and she advised to give her benadryl and use hydrocortisone cream, and that she should stay home today.  so, i did and within an hour they were all gone.  but, after her afternoon nap, some of them were back.  so, at our 3:00 appt, the dr did get to see some of them, and confirmed it was hives.  cause is unknown at the moment.  she said if they keep coming back daily it could be related to seasonal allergies.  the pollen has been terrible here lately!

she is 34 1/2 inches, with is apparently the height of a 26 month old!!  so, looks like she got daddy's genes! 
she is 27.4 lbs, in the 80th percentile. 
she got 1 shot today, the hepA. 
she has all her teeth except 2 yr molars

we talked some about discipline, since she's starting to get into the terrible 2s already - pushing, hitting, "NO", "MINE", not listening, etc. so we've enforced time out at home on occasion.

she did so good at her dr appt that we opted to get her a toy but she had a MELTDOWN at Toys R US, and all the way home, so we really had to invoke the dr's advice! 

she's gotten pretty good at reciting all the family member's names, as well as her teachers and classmates.  she can say around 30-50 words by our estimate.  she's said a few 2-word phrases so far, and says thank you and bless you when we sneeze !

i took a few short videos of haley opening easter presents -- sorry kerrie & russell, we did not video her opening yours, daddy just got pics.
when she opened each box, her fist word was "ooooooohhhhhhhh".  it was so cute, but i only caught it in the video from grandma & pepaw! (third time was a charm!)

easter pics

last easter we took some family pics by the blooming tree near our house.  we decided to retake the pic to see how much haley has changed in the past year.  since we used the tripod to take the pic, not too many smiles from haley.  but, better than nothing!

first ponytail & elmo backpack

i attempted a full ponytail today for haley.  it mostly went up, but the bottom slipped out over time, as you can see from the elmo backpack pictures!

this is her new elmo backpack from grandma & pepaw's easter surprise.  her ponytail had mostly fallen down by this point

daddy had to put his backpack on to show haley how it works.  they did a few laps around the kitchen holding hands, which was picture perfect!

Trey is no longer 'daddy' ...

Haley's funny thing this week is that she has started calling trey "TREY" instead of daddy!  i guess she heard me call him trey a few times.  she says it clear as a bell too!   we are not sure if it's best for him to acknowledge her when she says his name, or to reinforce calling him daddy.  it's funny when she says it !
