my stats

haley had her 4 month well visit today - but she's actually almost 5 months.  we had to push it back in order to space out vaccinations that we missed during our month in TX.  the doc said everything looks great, and she grew a lot!

stats (percentiles based on 5 month olds):
weight = 16 lbs, 8 oz (90th percentile)
height = 27.25 inches (~98th percentile- off the charts)
head = 17 inches circumference (85th percentile)

so, since dec 1, she grew 2.25 inches and gained 4.8 lbs.

we've officially started solids

haley has recently been waking up 2 or 3 times a night to eat, so we decided to give her rice cereal as a valentines day treat!  haha.  it only took a few spoons before she was "chomping at the bit" for more.  she loved it!  of course more came out of her mouth than went in, but she ate a lot more than i expected and i know she will soon become an expert eater.  the best part is that it helped her feel full, because she did not wake up to eat until 8 hrs later!  yeah!!  so, we will keep eating cereal once per day and hope that she will continue to love it.

gimmie that cereal!

it tastes best with a little bit of finger

yummy!

i "heart" spot

one of haley's favorite animals is a pink dog we call "spot". it's been with her since birth and when you pull the tail, it plays some soft music.  now, she's getting to the point where she will hug spot. this was my first attempt at a "photoshoot" with her.  she was in such a great & smiley mood before we started, but got very serious when she saw the camera!

these pics don't have spot, but i thought they were still cute.

i will be sad when it's too warm for her to wear this hat!

something in her face reminds me of jake's baby pics..?

being silly with daddy

haley's smile has not been the traditional type, but rather a wide open mouth with crinkled up nose and big eyes.  it's really cute, and the best way to get her to do it is to lift her up above our heads.  realizing that she is starting to smile in a more traditional way, we wanted to be sure to capture her original smile in some pics, so here ya go.  a few are even complete with drool !   ;-)

i think this drool hit trey in the face!

party dress

we went to Will's 3rd birthday party today, so haley wore her party dress.  it was a gift from trey's aunt dot for christmas.  it's reversible, and at first i had the side with stripes out, but before we left, i changed it to the side with hearts. ; -)  she looked adorable, especially with the headband, but unfortunately she was not a happy camper at the party AT ALL.  she screamed nonstop for ~20 minutes, even after i changed her, offered her a bottle, walked around, sang to her, took off her tights & headband (i figured those were making her uncomfy), and gave her to trey.  we finally got the idea to take her outside & despite it being cold and damp, she finally calmed down.  after that, all she wanted to do was sit in her carseat.  she was not a fan of being held by anyone, which was a bummer.  she conked out in the car and slept hard when we got home, so we're hoping she was just tired & is not coming down with anything.  she is normally fascinated by other little kids, but not the case at this party either!  i guess every day can't be perfect ;-)

laughing video

she's starting to laugh more and more, so trey caught it on video.

chubby cheeks

haley continues to grow, but she is still pretty skinny.  she has, however, gotten chubbier cheeks and a few rolls around her thighs.
she's only rolled over once since the day she rolled 4 times, and trey still has not seen it person.  she's gotten better at moving around in the johnny jumperoo but has unfortunately started to sit up in her bouncer!  so, as you can see in the pics, we definitely have to buckle her up!

all cheeks here!

pulling herself up on the bouncer

oops, i dropped something - good thing i'm buckled in

sitting up pretty well
don't i look like a "diaper diva"? ;-)
