18 months old!

Haley turned 18 months old on March 23.  Hard to believe it's been that long, but I have been saying that at every milestone, i think.  Lately, she's been chatting up a storm -- probably knows 20-40 words and says them relatively clearly.  but when she tries to talk in sentences, it still sounds like a little alien talking.  it's so cute! 

she loves sitting on the potty each night, but has only successfully used it once.  but, i'm grateful for the enthusiasm, so we'll just go with it!

Haley has shown interest in the potty lately, so we got one a few weeks back. The past few days, she’s been getting TP and “pretending” to wipe over her clothes, pulling on her diaper, and wanting to sit on it. so we’ve put her there at night before her final diaper change the last 3 days. Well, on March 20, she actually peed in it! Lol…she got a little excited, but I think was more like…”what is this liquid I feel”. But we got really excited for her, nonetheless.

We figure we’ll keep putting her on it as part of our nightly routine and just see what happens. Can’t really push it now because it’s not supported at daycare till she moves to the next room, around 2 yrs old. But, if she really gets into it, I will talk to them to see if she can move earlier.

haley is almost 18 months - hard to believe !  she's become such a little girl -- RUNNING everywhere, climbing on everything, chatting up a storm - sometimes in her own language, but saying more and more words we can understand.

this weekend, we went to the smithsonian mus of natural history. haley got to see the dinosaur bones and  other mammal exhibits. they have a 'discovery room' where the kids can touch and explore real bones, shells, minerals, and other artifacts, so she seemed to really enjoy it.

i gave her some fresh raspberries and blue berries (cut in half) this week, and she LOVED them. Trey bought a huge box of grapes and haley went bonkers when she saw them and could not have any.  so, i broke down and cut them in quarters and PEELED them!  call me paranoid but i don't want another trip to the ER!

we had a great time during our trip to TX last weekend, but I didn't bring my camera, so am at the mercy of grandmas and aunts to please send pics to me!!!
