we gave haley an early birthday present since she'll be celebrating her bday in tx next week. she has been ALL about baby dolls lately so we got her a 'real' looking one. she was estatic! she was shaking her arms in excitement (and impatience!) while i was trying to get the thing out of the box!! it was a late night since we gave it to her after church saturday and she wanted to go night-night with it in the living room...but she was SO excited. today, we named her baby kaycee..
i dared to send haley to daycare today in a pair of white short with tiny strawberries. cheese sandwiches were on the menu, so i knew we were safe from tomatoe sauce..but i figured she was sure to get dirt, mud, or grass stains on them...however to my pleasant surprise they were stain free when i picked her up! yeah! i was not so brave as to let her continue wearing them when we went to carrabbas for dinner, though!
we wore some other cotton white shorts last weekend and were not so lucky...she must have sat in some bird poop in the town square, as best i can tell! yuck. hopefully it will come out, but if not, there's always clorox!
so, here's cute outfit #1, followed by cute outfit #2...in the second picture, haley was practicing her counting with ice cubes, and licking them along the way.
we took haley to her first beach, and of course it was atlantic city! we were gone 3 nights. she had a BLAST playing in the sand but was NOT a fan of the water at all....not even to wash her hands & feet. so we kept our distance from the waves. the weather was not very cooperative with rain 2 of the 3 days. but we managed to go out to the beach 3 times (before the rain, with the clouds) and still got to experience the scene. she got pretty good at 'shooing' the seagulls away as we were on the beach and boardwalk.
it was our first time together in a hotel room and we borrowed bed rails from Brian & Tamara. they worked great, but it took haley at least an hour each night to fall asleep & she was up at 6:30 each morning. so, she was in the hole 2 hrs of sleep at minimum each day.
we made to the indoor pool once and tried out haley's puddle jumper floatation device. she liked how it supported her and she was able to swim around (well, kick her feet while we moved with her!) it was fun.
trey & i played a little bit (alternate while haley slept) but no luck. oh well, we weren't expecting any.
haley was really into riding in her stroller during this vacation, so we spent some time going up & down the boardwalk.
here are some pics:
happy as a clam
loved rolling in the sand
weeeeee!
looking at seashells in the cloudy weather saturday
spending some time blowing bubbles
practicing her gymnastics since we missed the little gym class. i had to stop her from doing a forward roll!
end of her rolling over the sand castle
tired, hungry!
haley could not get enough of the escalators!
asleep at last in the big bed!
and a video of her frolicking to the music on the boardwalk:
